Lana's Story

Lana Gifas joined Women's Mentoring Network as Executive Director in 2015, bringing her passion for women's economic empowerment to the forefront of her career. Armed with an MBA and undergraduate degree from The Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University, she transitioned from her background in financial institutions to lead this vital nonprofit organization.

Under Lana's leadership, Women's Mentoring Network has garnered significant recognition for its impact. The organization was awarded the Inclusive Community Team of the Year Award as part of the Inclusive Leadership Impact Awards in October 2024, Moffly Media's Light a Fire Women's Impact Award in 2020, and both the National Association of Social Workers of CT Latino/a/x Award and the SHero Award from the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity in 2021.

Lana's commitment extends beyond her organization through her service on multiple committees supporting women's advancement. She serves on committees for Stamford Cradle to Career's initiative, and participates in the 2Gen, Financial Literacy, and Internship committees for Connecticut's Governor's Council for Women and Girls. Additionally, she contributes to the Westchester County Women's Advisory Board and the Female Economic Empowerment Committee under the Westchester Women's Agenda.
